Soprano Sophie Negoïta returns to Granada, this time accompanied by pianist Jansen Ryser, marking the Spanish debut of the Swiss duo. Taking the All Saints' Day celebration as its guiding theme, they will present an intimate program that explores some of the most beautiful pages in the history of German Lied, through the works of two of its greatest exponents: Franz Schubert and Richard Strauss.

Biographies /
Sophie Negoïta
Swiss-Romanian soprano Sophie Negoïta studied at HEMU Lausanne and graduated from the Mozarteum Salzburg, where she studied under the tutelage of Barbara Bonney. She perfected her technique and musicianship in masterclasses with Cecilia Bartoli, Silvana Bazzoni Bartoli, Barbara Hannigan, Patricia Petibon, and others.
She recently debuted at the Salzburger Festspiele in the role of Esra, the heroine of the world premiere of Ping Pong, an opera composed by Mischa Tangian. Her operatic roles include Pamina, Papagena, Barbarina, Sophie (The Little Sweep), Mrs. Coyle (Owen Wingrave), Solveig, and roles in King Arthur, Dido & Aeneas, Venus & Adonis, and The Indian Queen, in houses such as the Opéra de Lausanne, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Mozarteum, Opéra de Reims, etc.
Known for her versatility, she works across a wide range of musical styles. She collaborates with the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Mozarteum Orchestra, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Enescu Philharmonic, Moldovan Philharmonic, Craiova Philharmonic, Pulcinella Orchestra... She also performs with the Vereinigung Wiener Staatsopernballett, exploring interdisciplinary performances.
In concert, she has performed the passions and cantatas of Bach, Messiah (Haendel), Requiem (Mozart), Nelson Mass and Missa in Angustiis (Haydn), Gloria (Poulenc), Cris du Monde (Honegger), and Der Rose Pilgerfahrt (Schumann).
In 2024/25, she begins a collaboration with Íliber Ensemble and Darío Tamayo for recordings and international tours with historically informed repertoire. Sophie is an established recitalist, performing regularly with her Liedduo partner, pianist Jansen Ryser.
Jansen Ryser
Winner of the Kiefer Hablitzel Göhner Music Prize, Swiss pianist Jansen Ryser has performed across Europe, the United States, and Japan. Praised for his musicality, his playing has been described as “combining natural pianism, musical sensitivity, and poetic eloquence.”
He has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Kammermusik Festival Basel, Verbier Festival Off, Lavaux Classic Off, Plovdiv International Chamber Music Festival, Les Jardins Musicaux de Cernier, Vienna Young Pianist, and Art et Musique de Sierre. Regularly invited by orchestras, he made his debut at fifteen at the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad, and later at the Victoria Hall in Geneva. Recently, he performed Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Sinfonieorchester Basel at the Stadtcasino.
Jansen Ryser collaborates regularly with soprano Sophie Negoïta, with whom he performs in recital across Europe. Together, they pursued a Postgraduate Liedduo program at the Mozarteum Salzburg with Stephan Genz.
Born in Lausanne in 1994, Jansen studied at the Haute école de musique de Genève and The Juilliard School, supported by the Theodora J. Nicolas Scholarship. He refined his skills with Paul Badura-Skoda, Eberhard Feltz, Andreas Staier, Franz Helmerson, and Nelson Goerner, and later completed studies at the Musik Akademie Basel with Claudio Martínez-Mehner.
